Wrapping up July Already?

We can’t believe we are approaching the last week of July.  This month has been an absolute whirlwind of regular programming, special events, and HEAT!

Today we participated in the Franklinton Fresh Foods Festival hosted by Gladden Food Pantry.  Franklintonites lined up at 10am this morning to receive bundles of onions, squash, watermelons, and other fresh produce.  Franklinton Cycleworks was on hand to provide free bicycle repair and information about all the sweet events going on.

One of the events is with one of our favorite organizations in Columbus:  the Columbus Metropolitan Library!  On Saturday July 30th at 2pm we will be partnering with the Hilltop Branch of the CML to put on a bicycle rodeo for the Summer Reading Club youth participants.  All youth are welcome to come and participate in a safety course, bike decoration stations, bicycle repair, and parade of weird bikes!  It should be a lot of fun.

Meanwhile, Franklinton Cycleworks is in need of a few specific things.  While we always need the items on our wishlist (under the “volunteer” tab on the menu up top), the following are a few things we especially are running low on:
1. Mop and Bucket
2. Toilet Paper
3. Paper Towels
4.Trash Bags (big and small)
5. Hand Soap
6. 27″ Tires
7. Zip Ties
8. Bicycle Hooks
All donations can be dropped off during open shop times: Monday 630-930pm and Saturday 1-5pm at 897 West Broad, or by special arrangement.  Unfortunately due to gas prices we cannot afford to pick up donations unless they are in close proximity to the shop and downtown Columbus.  We appreciate all donations and are able to provide tax receipts if necessary.
Cheers!
